LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures continued to advance into record territory Thursday. The December Nymex gold futures contract traded as high as $1,366 an ounce in electronic trading, according to FactSet Research, and changed hands in recent action at $1.364.30 an ounce, a gain of $16.60. Prospects for additional quantitative easing by the U.S. Federal Reserve and the Bank of England, as well as recent actions by the Bank of Japan have helped drive up gold amid concerns the additional easing measures will weaken the dollar and other major currencies.
