CME Slashes Initial & Maintenance Margins for Gold & Silver!!
In an obvious sign that the CME is suffering from a massive exodus of investors in the wake of the CME refusing to make MF Global clients whole over their losses in the MFG bankruptcy (as well as due to manipulative consecutive margin hikes last May), the CME is attempting to draw speculative traders back into the PM paper market by slashing margins for gold and silver.
Yes, you read that title right. The CME has just announced initial and maintenance margin cuts for silver (13%), gold (12%), platinum and copper!
This means silver's maintenance margin is reduced to $16,000, and gold's to $7,500.

as a metals trader, i can say MFGlobal damage has been done and we cannot roll back the good old days. the customers still out of luck only recover 70%.. some 50%. nobody will trust the paper commodity market. CME chairman said, "they (CME) have 100 billions in reserve"
the naysers continue to be in denial. Corzine is jail free.
i had to shut down my business due to MF incident.
lowering margin will not help. the speculators do not want to get burned TWICE.

妳記錯啦, 加按金才會導致金銀價跌, 因為少錢的人會俾迫平倉離場 !
減按金, 金銀應該升, 但金銀唔升, 代表好多人唔再入市買紙啦 !
慘啦，買平金銀的日子己過去。記得之前Bosco提過實金銀熱潮時，假金銀都會愈来愈來愈多，呢排咁多假銀幣，睇來夠鏡了。
